Foodware 365 for Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations

It's on! Foodware 365 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO) is released this month! It promises to be the combination of best practices and specific food functionality, available to food companies worldwide. The solution is built on the foundations of the Dynamics 365 and Azure platforms and is seamlessly integrated with the functionality offered within Finance & Operations. This is the result of years of knowledge and experience gained within the Microsoft ERP products within the food industry. More than an ERP solution, both in product and service.

More than just an ERP

In addition to our own vertical food additions to Finance & Operations, we are also fully exploiting the power of the Dynamics 365 Common Application Platform: Azure services, PowerApps, Flow and Power BI. And all that in combination with the Common Data Model, creating the right tools for the right job. No longer does everything need to be fitted in the ERP solution. The entire Power suite can now be combined. A great additional option here is our Food Management Dashboard, a Business Intelligence solution based on Power BI, which offers specific food KPIs.

Using the full power of the Dynamics 365 platform

With our solutions and innovations we enable our customers to utilize all options of the Dynamics 365 platform. In the Cloud, the Intelligent Edge and On Premise. For the latter implementation option, we have built our own lab set-up. For knowledge and skills building and validation of our product set, in order to optimally advise and guide our customers.

From knowledge, to expertise, to quality

Back to the vertical addition, two and a half years ago we started to build up knowledge in collaboration with Microsoft, the readiness program. Followed by a first experiment. One module – product specifications – was extracted from the monolithic vertical addition to AX2012R3. That's how we went from knowledge to expertise, from falling to getting up again. From migrating to conversion. We also started with the Lifecycle Services (LCS). We have implemented a hard reset of the development line, using Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) and Team Foundation Server (TFS) for planning, development and implementation. The development of Data Entities for reading in (demo) data. Building Task Guides for work instructions and converting them into test scripts for automatic testing. This resulted in one module on Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations. More importantly, however, are the many learning moments and the experience gained. From knowledge, to expertise, to quality.

Redesign of the entire Foodware solution

Last year, just before the summer, the decision was taken to completely rethink, redesign & redevelop the entire Foodware solution, in order to make optimal use of the platform's capabilities. The best food solution on the D365FO platform; Foodware 365. From a monolithic vertical addition to a model with a foundation, modules and interactions. From "overlay" to, for Microsoft made available to us, events. Ready for Finance & Operations version 8.x! And as icing on the cake we also added a full packaging module.

Foodware 365 as a total solution

In order to further complete our food proposition, we have entered into close partnerships with Quadira Advanced Forms for Document Output Management and AXtension Invoice Processing for automatic invoice processing.

More than just an ERP solution

The publication of Foodware 365 on Microsoft AppSource will soon be the final part of our transition. The transition that is more about the body than a product migration. It is also a knowledge and skill, but especially a mindset migration. A transition that leads Foodware 365 to be more than an ERP solution. And at the same time this is just the beginning! The roadmap for the coming fiscal year is: we stay on the D365FO platform with periodic F & O and Dynamics 365 releases and enrich the functionality of Foodware 365.
